- ロボティクスにおける shape control(shape servoing)のチュートリアル論文(Part I) - deformable object を自動操作し目標形状に到達させる枠組みを解説 - robot motion と measured shape 変化の関係(interaction Jacobian / deformation Jacobian)に基づくフィードバックループ - data-driven かつ Jacobian-based な形状制御が対象 - 形状制御問題の定式化、shape representation、deformation Jacobian の推定・オンライン更新、標準的な control law を紹介 - これらを統合した shape-servoing loop、局所安定性条件、到達不能な目標形状が生じる理由を説明 - 2部構成の Part I(基礎編)で、Part II は発展的話題を扱う - 例題は 2本の robot arms が elastic rod を操作し camera で観測する planar なシミュレ…

- 本論文の Part II(advanced topics を扱う続編) - 要旨で参照される要素:interaction Jacobian / deformation Jacobian、data-driven Jacobian-based shape control、標準的な control law、local stability condition - 同分野の関連手法として、model-based shape servoing、data-driven shape servoing、Jacobian estimation/update 手法 - 例題に関連する elastic rod の planar manipulation と camera-based shape measurement に関する研究

In robotics, shape control (or shape servoing) refers to the automatic manipulation of a deformable object to achieve a desired shape. It involves a feedback loop that exploits the relation between robot motion and changes in the measured shape. This relation, known as the interaction Jacobian or, in this context, the deformation Jacobian, depends on the object's mechanical properties, geometry, and boundary conditions (e.g., where the object is grasped). Because these factors are often difficult to model accurately, the deformation Jacobian can be estimated locally from observed shape changes produced by commanded robot motions, without requiring a fine-tuned mechanical model. This article is the first of a two-part tutorial on data-driven Jacobian-based shape control of deformable objects. It introduces the central elements of the approach: the formulation of the shape-control problem, shape representation, estimation and online update of the deformation Jacobian, and a standard control law from the literature. It then assembles these elements into a complete shape-servoing loop, derives a local stability condition for this loop, and illustrates why some target shapes cannot be reached. Part II covers more advanced topics. Throughout both parts, a simulated planar example in which two robot arms manipulate an elastic rod observed by a camera illustrates the concepts.
