DARPA announced the SHort-Range Independent Microrobotic Platforms (SHRIMP) program on July 17, 2018, aiming to advance micro-to-milli robotics for disaster recovery and high-risk environments. The program will fund research in actuator materials and power storage to enable untethered, dexterous microrobots.
なぜ重要か
災害現場の瓦礫や不安定な場所に入る小型ロボットを想定し、DARPAは独立して動く微小ロボット基盤の研究を始めます。重点は、動力部材と蓄電・電力変換で、遠隔操作のつなぎ線に頼らず、移動・把持・作業をこなすための要素技術を検証する点です。
