- 装着型ロボットの一種である supernumerary robotic limbs (SRLs) のためのウェアラブルインタフェース - 名称は Multi-modal Embodiment Stimulation Shoulder Pad (MESSPa) - 肩に装着する shoulder pad 型のデバイス - 目的は、SRL を身体から切り離して遠隔操作する際に sense of agency (SoA) を保つこと - sense of embodiment は SoA と sense of ownership (SoO) から成ると位置づけ - 切り離し状態では SoA とタスク成績が低下しやすいという課題に対応 - one-to-one motion transfer と、肩に空間分散配置した pneumatic (balloon) haptic feedback を組み合わせる - 論文は system design、control mapping、被験者実験の結果を報告するもの

- 比較対象は著者らの previous study における keyboard control (N=12) - 切り離し (detached) 条件で keyboard control と比べ、MESSPa は - task completion time を有意に短縮 - detached 状態の sense of agency を有意に改善 - attached と detached の間の performance gap を縮小 - つまり、遠隔操作時の agency 低下という従来課題に対し、motion transfer と positional haptic feedback の組み合わせが有効であることを示した点 - なお sense of ownership には有意な変化は見られなかった - 具体的な先行研究名や他の SRL インタフェースとの比較は要旨からは不明

- MESSPa は shoulder pad 型のウェアラブルインタフェース - 操作入力は one-to-one motion transfer によりロボットアームへ写像 - 触覚提示は肩に空間分散配置した pneumatic (balloon) haptic feedback - 位置情報を伝える positional haptic feedback として機能 - 実験デザインは 2×2 mixed design - 群間要因: control interface (MESSPa, N=13 vs. keyboard control, N=12 from previous study) - 被験者内要因: attachment (on-shoulder / detached) - さらに single-task と dual-task の負荷条件下で評価 - 評価指標は task completion time、sense of agency、sense of ownership - control mapping の詳細なアルゴリズムや balloon 配置…

- 制御実験 (controlled experiment) により検証 - 2×2 mixed design で、control interface を群間、attachment を被験者内で交差 - MESSPa 群 N=13、keyboard control 群 N=12 (previous study のデータ) - single-task および dual-task 負荷の下で評価 - 結果として detached 条件で keyboard control 比べ - task completion time が有意に短縮 - sense of agency が有意に改善 - attached/detached 間の performance gap が縮小 - sense of ownership は有意差なし - 統計手法やタスク内容の詳細は要旨からは不明

- 要旨で直接参照/比較されているのは著者らの previous study の keyboard control 条件 - 関連手法として supernumerary robotic limbs (SRLs)、sense of agency (SoA)、sense of ownership (SoO)、sense of embodiment に関する研究 - pneumatic (balloon) haptic feedback や motion transfer を用いたウェアラブルインタフェースの研究 - 具体的な論文名は要旨に記載がないため、同分野の定番として SRL と sense of embodiment に関する研究を次に読む候補とする

Wearable robots such as supernumerary robotic limbs (SRLs) can augment human capability, but their effectiveness depends strongly on the operator's sense of embodiment, comprising the sense of agency (SoA) and the sense of ownership (SoO). When an SRL is detached from the body so that the operator can act in two places at once, both the sense of agency and task performance tend to degrade. This paper presents the Multi-modal Embodiment Stimulation Shoulder Pad (MESSPa), a wearable interface that combines one-to-one motion transfer with spatially distributed pneumatic (balloon) haptic feedback on the shoulder, with the goal of preserving the sense of agency across attached and detached states. We describe the system design, the control mapping, and a controlled experiment using a $2\times2$ mixed design that crosses the control interface between groups (MESSPa, $N=13$, vs. keyboard control, $N=12$ from our previous study) and attachment (on-shoulder/detached) within participants, under single- and dual-task loads. Compared with keyboard control in the detached condition, MESSPa significantly reduced task completion time and significantly improved the sense of agency in the detached state, while narrowing the performance gap between the attached and detached conditions. The sense of ownership did not change significantly. These results indicate that combining motion transfer with positional haptic feedback is an effective way to recover agency when a robotic limb is operated remotely.
