Nvidia Announces Expanded Partnership With Toyota to Deploy AI in Smart Cities and Factories

Nvidia said it is expanding its partnership with Toyota Motor Corp. to broaden the use of AI, from autonomous driving to smart cities and factory robotics development.

What happened

Nvidia announced an expanded partnership with Toyota Motor Corp. on July 17, 2026. Toyota will integrate Nvidia’s in-vehicle computing platform, Drive AGX Orin, and DriveOS into next-generation vehicles. It will also deploy Nvidia GPUs and development tools at Woven City, its test city in Susono, Shizuoka Prefecture, and has developed the Woven City AI Vision Engine using H100 Tensor Core GPUs and Megatron-Core technology. Toyota will also adopt Nvidia’s Omniverse platform to build a digital twin of an assembly line.

Why it matters

The partnership now covers not only in-vehicle computing for autonomous driving, but also urban traffic control and factory production planning. Toyota engineers will develop a vision platform at Woven City in Susono to analyze complex traffic conditions in real time and predict and respond to them. In factories, they will be able to repeatedly test assembly lines and robot movements in virtual environments before applying them to physical equipment.
