DAWN Avatar Robot Cafe Yokohama to Open in August 2027

Ory Laboratory announced on July 7, 2026, that its DAWN Avatar Robot Cafe will open a Yokohama location in August 2027. The cafe will be in the Kannai-Bashamichi area of Naka Ward, Yokohama, in the Yokohama Building, which is scheduled for completion in January 2027.

The new location will be a permanent venue in Yokohama where people who have difficulty going out because of intractable illnesses, disabilities, caregiving or child-rearing can remotely operate OriHime avatar robots to serve customers. As the first family-oriented location, it will also host robot-operation experience events before opening, offering people a chance to learn about work for those who have difficulty leaving home.
